Driver Training
The VFWDC encourages and highly recommends that all members participate in the driver training course. The course is available (once) for free for both new and longer serving members.
Our Driver Trainers are fully accredited
through Four Wheel Drive Victoria (FWDV).
The course aims to provide you with the skills to
make full use of your 4WD in a safe manner.
Throughout the course you will cover the following topics
both in theory and practically:
- Consideration of the environment
- Planning for four-wheel driving
- How a four-wheel drive vehicle works
- Tyres
- Driving a four-wheel drive vehicle
- Planning for your trip and pre departure checks
- Loading your Vehicle
- Driving in a variety of terrain types
- Recovery using recovery strap
